Arkabutla Road Construction Notice **05/24/23 Update**

**05/24/23 Update**

After speaking with the contractor regarding the numerous closures, they have agreed to the following schedule to ensure worker safety:

Wed-Fri: Road will be closed 7AM-5PM

Sat-Mon: Road will be open

Tuesday: Closed until further notice

Please note that starting Tuesday (5/30/23), the final pipe replacement is planned to kick off. Given its size, installation will take a few days, resulting in a FULL road closure. Once the pipe is in place, the focus shifts to replacing the final box extension.

Arkabutla Rd will be shutdown periodically starting at the end of this week for the State Aid base level and repair project. There are approximately 9 to 11 pipes that will be replaced, and 1 box culvert extension that will require the road to be shutdown at different stages of the project. Road closure notices will be sent out through CodeRED, Facebook, and the county’s website as needed. When the road is shutdown, local traffic will detour per the map below.

 

**Please note that gravel trucks, 18 wheeler, and other heavy commercial trucks may NOT use this route. They must use Highway 4 and Highway 3 as those types of vehicles are not allowed on county roads.**
