Biography

Tony Sandridge is a lifelong Tate Countian. Being born and raised in Coldwater MS, Tony has seen the struggles, he has seen the growth and he sees the possibilities. Sandridge was elected in 2007 to serve as the District 3 Supervisor. Making history as the first African American elected official in Tate County, Tony hit the ground running making a difference in our community. Tony is currently serving his 4th term. He has been entrusted to serve as the President of the Tate County Board of Supervisors. Tony has worked diligently to learn and gain full knowledge of the structures of government, and he continues to educate himself and other elected officials on the opportunities for Tate County. He prides himself on the relationships he has developed with local, state and federal leaders. Tony has gained the respect of local citizens, local leadership and state agencies alike.

Tony Sandridge has been married to Cassandra Sandridge for over 30 years. They have one son, Brandon, and a daughter, Tempestt. They are also blessed with two grandsons, Kayler and Kaden. Tony and his family have been proud to call Tate County their home since they were born. As an alumnus of Coldwater High School, Tony has made it his mission to support the local schools and provide the children of the community new opportunities. Tony and his family attends Second Baptist Church of Coldwater. As a proud graduate of Northwest Community College, Sandridge understands the important role they play in our community. Tony’s background in construction and general contracting has proved to be a vital asset to the Tate County Board of Supervisors. His experience at R.R. Donnelly has made Tony a team player who strives for excellence in everything he does.

Sandridge’s commitment to his community is much deeper than just words. He is actively working with members of the community daily. He started a non-profit organization, Tate County Bridging the Gap Inc. in 2012. This organization seeks to bring the community together by bridging the gaps including age, economic background and race. Working with groups like the Seniors on the Move and For Keeps, Tony and his teams seek to grow relationships and serve those in need. Some of their many accomplishments include, sports camps, leagues where none existed, talent shows, suppling equipment and new opportunities for those who would otherwise, never have the chance.

Currently serving as the Tate County Board of Supervisors President, is just one of the many rolls Sandridge is staring in. He works with the Tate County Youth & Drug Court Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Association of Tennessee Valley of Governments, North Delta Planning and Development District Board, Three Rivers Workforce Committee, and MAS Educational Committee. He serves on the Task Force for the Public Defenders for the State of Mississippi representing the Association of Supervisors. His service doesn’t stop there. He is a member of the First Security Bank Community Board and on the Communicare Board of Directors. He is on the Board of Directors for the Clenn Moore Headstart Community Program.

Tony Sandridge truly understands the challenges that come along with being a community leader. His service on the Board of Supervisors and as Deputy Director of Bridging the Gap Inc. have made Tony a true asset to Tate County but his commitment to making Tate County a place that all citizens are included, appreciated and given opportunities have made him a true community role model.

Priorities

Tony Sandridge’s Priorities- serve the youth and seniors in the community, make a difference in Tate County’s future, education and exposure to opportunities for Tate County.
